Outgoing President’s Report to the Reps
November 21 to December 3

December 3, 2008
November 24 – attended District 3 meeting in Swift Current with Dorothy Weetman, Kevin Glibert and Nial Kuyek. Attendance was poor, a large part of District Three seems to be unavailable.
November 25 – attended District 1 Meeting in Kipling with Arlynn Kurtz, Greg Marshall and Nial Kuyek. Very positive response to our current activates and actions. RM of Spy Hill will be sending a new rep to the AGM according to the Council and Reeve.
November 26 – attended District 2 meeting in Moose Jaw with Greg Marshall and Nial Kuyek.
November 27 – met with Greg Marshall and Nial Kuyek to coordinate speakers and activities for the 2008 AGM and the agenda for the December 3 BOD meeting.
November 27 – attended radio interview at Agribition with 620CKRM regarding the current crisis in Livestock sector.
November 28 – attended Agribition and staffed APAS display. There was lots of positive discussion with numerous booth visitors.
November 28 – accompanied Nial Kuyek to Cattlemen’s reception at Agribition to meet with key staff and executive. Discussion centered on APAS policy options for the sector and the potential for attendance at the December 1 meeting with the provincial Dairy and Bison groups.
December 1 – Kevin Gilbert, Greg Marshall, Nial Kuyek and I hosted/attended a livestock strategy meeting with the Bison and Dairy groups. Cattlemen and StockGrowers were unable to attend due to conflicting schedules. No common ground was reached on next steps, but the meeting was useful to renew relationships with each attending group and to start to discuss common issues.
December 1 – Conference call with Executive Committee for scheduled evaluation of General Manager, followed by in-person meeting (along with Greg Marshall) with Nial Kuyek for 6-month evaluation .
December 2 – in office with Greg Marshall and Nial Kuyek to finalize AGM arrangements and to provide support to staff as required.
December 3-5 - attended and participated in the 2008 AGM. Thank you to all of the Representatives, Board and Staff for your support and hard work over the past year. I look forward to working with all of you to renew and revitatize our organization in the upcoming year.
