Charles Boser

District 6 Director

Charles Boser at a BOD Meeting in Regina

Born in Unity, Saskatchewan in 1942, Charles Boser is the oldest of nine children. He was raised on a mixed farm in the Reward area and attended high school in Luseland and North Battleford.

After graduation, Charles migrated to the Edmonton area to pursue a career in the booming construction industry and to secure his provincial and inter-provincial journeyman's ticket in metal sheet work. For the next six years, Charles was employed as a dynamic and committed project manager in Edmonton and throughout Northern Alberta.

In 1964, Charles asked for and received the hand of his lovely wife, Gail - and together they have raised four successful and gifted children (the oldest of which is actively involved in the family farm operation). As the family started to grow, Charles and Gail decided it was time to acquaint their children to their rural and agricultural roots. So in 1972, Charles, Gail and their young family returned to the Reward area and purchased Charles' uncle's farm.

The Boser family has continued to farm in the Reward area for the last thirty seven years, operating a mixed farm; raising hogs, poultry and eventually diversifying into a full cow-calf operation. The Bosers also seed 2500 acres to grain and oilseeds.

Being rasied with a strong sense of social and community responsibility, Charles  is actively involved both within his community and throughout Saskatchewan in community curling, 4-H, RM Council, the ADD Board, and the local Recreation Board. Charles is also a passionate member of his community and Church, serving as Parish Council Chairperson and Deanery Chairperson as well as a long term role on the Rural Social Justice Committee for the Saskatoon Diocese.

Charles Boser was elected to the APAS BOD at the 2008 AGM held in Regina in December 2008. Charlie believes strongly that APAS is the correct framework within which Saskatchewan agricultural producers can influence policy and will work hard to bring the best possible people to the room to bring prosperity to the next generation of farmers.
