Greg Marshall

Greg was born and raised on the family farm in the Semans area where he has been farming since 1974 with his wife Edie, and more recently with his son Paul and daughter-in-law Marcy.  Greg has three grown children and four grandchildren. 

Greg farmed 4500 acres of grain and oilseeds as well as had a cow-calf operation and a background-feeder operation.  He now leases his farm to others.

Greg graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Diploma in Agriculture in 1973.  He has served in many capacities in various organizations, including:  the Board of Directors of Saskatchewan Life Insurance Council from 1985-1990; Board of Directors of Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation from 1991-1993; and as a participant in the Canadian International Grains Institute’s Farm Leaders Course in 1993. 

In addition, Greg has served as chair of the following committees, groups and organizations: Booth Siding Terminal Development Committee; Raymore Agricultural Marketing Group; Semore Crop Production Club; Semans United Church Board; Semans Arena Board; Last Mountain Co-op Board.  Greg is also a Canadian Armed Forces Commissioned Officer  (retired) and Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron Commander (retired).

Greg became involved in APAS as a district 5 Rep in 2005. He was then elected to the Board of Directors in 2006. He served on the executive committee during 2008 and was elected as President in December 2008.

He presently is a Director of the Western Grains Research Foundation and the Canada Grains Council. He is a member of the Grains Innovation Roundtable, and is co-chair of the Canadian Federation Grains and Oilseeds Committee and is an executive member of the Canadian Federation of Agriculture.
