Don Connick

Vice President & District 3 Director

Don Connick, Vice President, 2009

Don was raised on the family farm south of Gull Lake, Saskatchewan. He received his Bachelor of Agriculture degree from the U of S in Saskatoon and worked as an Ag Rep for the Manitoba Department of Agriculture for ten years.

Don returned to the family farm where he and Norma raised their children.  The Connicks have a mixed farm on the first bend of the Cypress Hills, where they run a small herd of Hereford cattle and grow a wide variety of crops, including wheat, barley, peas and alfalfa.

During the winter months, Don is a part-time instructor for SIAST - Wascana Campus, where he teaches the Pesticide Application Course amongst others. This opportunity allows Don to meet agricultural producers and industry representatives from across Southern Saskatchewan.

Don has been an active Director for APAS for the past four years and was the APAS Rep for the RM of Carmichael #109 for the four years prior to being elected to the Board of Directors. Don was the interim President of APAS in 2008.

Don believes strongly in the importance of a united voice for agriculture in Saskatchewan and in ensuring that integrity and honesty are the cornerstones of all APAS activities.
